CONVERGENCE’09
Containing GlobalChallenges
November 5-6, 2009
V.P. Chest Institute Auditorium
(North Campus)
Convergence is defined as ‘the approach toward a definite value, a definite point, a common view or opinion, or toward a fixed or equilibrium state’ and we at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies feel exactly the same. The annual flagship national business convention of the college – ‘Convergence’, aims at mulling over the most contentious issues pertaining to business and economics, thereby arriving at a consensus to grapple with them in the most potent manner. The two-day convention, which is the only one of its kind in the University’s calendar, brings together the top brass of several big business houses and scores of students from across the spectrum.
The 2009 version of the event brings a plethora of attractions for its speakers and delegates. With an endeavor to bring the event closer to its biggest beneficiaries i.e. the student community – ‘Convergence’09’ is being held within the University’s North Campus. This year’s theme is ‘Containing Global Challenges,’ which in itself has been chosen after a lot of deliberation and contemplation. In the current precarious situation, it is of prime importance to learn from past mistakes and deal with future situations in the most effective manner, and in accordance with this fact, we aim to create a congenial forum which will ensure the evolution of effective solutions to deal with global problems that have an impact on businesses and economies across the world.
While the first day will focus on strategic global challenges which merit action from both the national governments and business houses, the second day will witness business barons mooting ways of combating imminent issues, which have the potency of snowballing into huge stumbling blocks in the future.
